Wooden mallets

I turn these mallets by hand on my 1940’s wood lathe for use in the shop, with close attention to balance, weight, and feel. Wood species vary depending on what is locally available, and finishes range from natural to traditionally ebonized. Each mallet is shaped individually, and no two are exactly alike. The form is straightforward and purposeful, meant to feel right in the hand from the first strike. Finished with pure tung oil and lightly waxed, the surface retains the warmth and character of the wood. These mallets are made for steady work at the bench, the kind of tool that earns its place through use and time.

I’ve also listed a small number of mallets below that developed minor stress cracks during the drying process. These mallets are shaped from green wood, and occasional checking is a natural part of that method. I do not believe these imperfections affect the performance or longevity of the mallets, but they are offered at a reduced price to reflect their appearance. As always, if you are not completely satisfied with your purchase upon receipt, I offer a 100% money-back guarantee (less a $10 shipping fee). Just let me know within 10 days of arrival.
